Initiatives
Four things we run, on a schedule.
Convening only works if it is repeated. These are the four recurring formats, each with its own room, its own rules, and its own reason to exist.
Every other Friday
Friday FinTech Circle
The informal, recurring meetup. No panel, no pitch deck, no dress code. Bring one thing you are stuck on and one thing you can help with.

Roundtables
Structured, topic driven sessions. Most are closed door, because the useful version of these conversations is the one nobody has to be careful during.

Academia
University partnerships, joint research, and the work of turning what the sector learns into something students and faculty can actually build on.

The come as you are counterpart to the Roundtables. Anyone working in or around fintech can walk in. It exists because most useful introductions do not happen at a scheduled session, they happen when the same people keep turning up until they trust each other.
- Format
- Open, two hours, no programme for the first half hour
- Middle hour
- Two or three people talk for five minutes each, no slides
- RSVP
- A name and an email, nothing more
Structured sessions built around one question at a time, with the people who can actually answer it in the room. Most run closed door under Chatham House, which is the only way some of these conversations happen at all.
The standing topic bank
Bank and Fintech Partnerships
Where partnership talks actually stall, procurement, risk sign off and integration timelines, discussed with the people who own each step.
Deal Room 2026
Founders and investors in one room with a short format and no panel. Mandates stated up front, introductions made on the day.
Diaspora Capital
How remittance flows and diaspora investors could fund the sector, and what currently stops them from doing it.
Digital Assets Regulation, Risk and Reality
What a workable digital assets framework looks like from the compliance desk, not the conference stage.
The Policy Roundtable
A standing session between operators and the regulators who write the rules they work under. Chatham House, on the record only by agreement.
Inclusion and the Last Mile
Agent networks, cash in and cash out economics, and what it really costs to reach the customer nobody else has reached.
Academia is where the research side of the mission becomes other people's material. It covers formal partnerships with universities, joint studies run with faculty on how the market actually operates, guest teaching and curriculum input, and open access to the data behind our published work. The point is that findings do not stop at a report, they end up in a syllabus.
- Partnerships
- Formal agreements with universities, renewed by term
- Research
- Joint studies with faculty, published open access
- Teaching
- Guest sessions and curriculum input, so findings reach a syllabus rather than stopping at a report
One guest, one hour, no panel. We record the conversation people usually only have off the record, with someone who has done the thing rather than commented on it.
- Format
- One guest, one hour, no panel
- Guests
- People who have done the thing, not commented on it
